THE ELECTION FEVER!!!

It is that time once again wherein South Africans will stand in the long cues waiting for one thing that makes it all complete in the democratic government. That special something which the constitution of the country regards as the citizen's voice, one thing that can be used to change this country for the better. I am talking about elections.

While voters are still weighing their options, politicians are having sleepless nights, do not be fooled even "msholozi" feels it too. The best thing about our democracy is that it allows multiple parties which does give a lot of options to the voters. The question is who will be the last man/woman standing.

While there might be a lot of answers to the above questions, one could not help it but state that this is going to be one of the most intresting yet difficult elections ever in our democracy. So many things has been said and done. Election manifestos has been portrayed to the public the voters has to choose who goes to the parliament and who doesn't. Even though our union builing is not that famous as compared to US's white house everyone is waiting to see who makes it to be the president of one of the most decorated nations in Africa.

It seems as it will be the battle of the fittest. With the new kid on the block(COPE) it seems as the voters are now spoilit with many choices. But on my own point of view Cope will not manage to the ruling party not now, but the party principles and objections seem to portray the United South African dream. The party is formed more special by former ANC members should there be unity amongst its top members the party has a very bright future.

It seems a bit impossible for DA to be a ruling party, even though the party has good policies it is still refered to as the party of white people by a majority of blacks in the country. The party also dug its grave to some blacks when it stated that it looks after the rights of the minority in South Africa who are white people. It is still soon to have a white president the equality and racial issues is still aboundant in South Africa.

As for other parties it is not that axprcted that they will make an impact in the elections. The likes of FF plus will only get white Afrikaans speaking voters since they seem not to get tired of wanting their language to remain the only if not first official language. The formation of COPE did not an impact on ANC only some of the opposition parties are going to lose many voters severely. It is likely that we might get a new black opposition party.

As for ANC getting 75% in yhe parliament might be as hard as a horse going through the hole of a neddle, Even though the will win the elections. The party still has many followers more special uneducated South Africans who think that social grunts belongs to the ANC not the government. Also history will come to the advantage of ANC. Voters still feel that they owe ANC their vote since the party claims that it brought democracy alone. One could not help it but ask if they are the one who organized the Sharpville march and many act of resistance against apartheid regime.

However let the rest will be seen after the elections. So let's go and prove that we are South Africans not South African't once agian while world is watching, remember your vote is your voice.
